Dropped into the Avalon Theater today to catch the last showing of the new documentary “Bill W.”
I got these photographs the other day in a correspondence from a friend. They represent a different sort of journey and, for the majority of those pictured, one that has come to an end. I thought you might enjoy them. One of the more interesting images is of the quartet of talent that emerged from Sun Records. Some surprising relationship connections pictured here, at least for me. I was not aware of any pairing of Dean and Taylor nor was I aware of Chaplin‘s activities with the world figures he’s shown with here.
What was even more amazing to me was that, except for Chaplin (and Taylor’s buns), I was able to visually identify these people. See if you can do the same. Enjoy
At the Smithsonian’s Baird Auditorium for a talk given by Walter Isaackson on his biography of Steve Jobs.
I’ve been playing with using both polarizing filters and HDR post-processing and this is one of the first products. I took this shot on the sourtheastern end of Lake Thoreau in Reston a couple of days past

After several more days of tonsure toasting and face frying I thought it time for a hat. REI accommodated with a weekend sale.
