The Natchez Trace

P597
P599
P601

Four-hundred forty miles of Parkway that until an hour ago I did not know existed. I vaguely recalled the Trace from school history lessons but did not realize it had been memorialized by the Park Service. This is a beautiful run comparable in most respects to The Blue Ridge Parkway. I think I will combine them on my trip to California in June. Would also make a nice fall foliage run: Waynesboro to Asheville then Nashville to Natchez. Wow!

I’m at the Visitor’s Center near Tupelo, MS, which is about the north-south mid-point. It’s nearly 1700 so I’m thinking Tupelo might be home tonight. Should I leave one if my “Richard slept here” cards? Hmmmm.
