Just sat out a hellish storm here
Thought I’d make Harrison, AR tonight but there’s just too much along the way. Pulling out of Natchitoches aiming for The Ozarks. We’ll see.
Who knew that America’s #1 Fitness and Weight Loss Center was hidden
here in Leesville, LA? Awesome!
Sitting in the welcome center listening to the flood news. Not sure when or if I’ll come in contact. There is such a dichotomy between what’s happening and what the surrounding weather right now actually is.
Traveling along the MS Gulf Coast. It’s going to take a while to get through here I think:) Nothing but pale blue vistas as far as the eye can see.

Loneliness is the first thing that God’s eye nam’d not good.

The flowers are artificial; the sentiments real. Old soldiers. Some not so old.
Gallery Espresso, Savannah, GA
And now off to Clearwater!
Finally got past the business end of the journey – at least for the present – and headed to Charleston to meet the first of my heretofore unknown cousins, Charles and Betty Price. I’ll make that the subject of another post since we’re all going to meet up in Louisiana later in the month but it was a great evening learning about blood kin that up until now I knew nothing about. The trip from Greensboro to Charleston was uneventful except for a bit of rain that occasionally got extremely heavy but that oddly shortened the run because it more or less eliminated opportunities to stop and take pictures. Although not entirely. I was near Darlington, SC, famous for it’s NASCAR events, when the weather broke for a period. As i zipped along I spied a scene out the corner of my eye and made a quick u-turn to try and capture it.
Coffee houses are not only ubiquitous but very useful for business. Was able to visit both Tate Street and Green Bean this morning coordinating the launch of NyghtVision Boot Camp next weekend in Greensboro.
The May-long road trip begins. A beautiful drive down Rt29 today to Greensboro. Blue sky. Hardly a cloud. Steig Larsson‘s The Girl Who Played With Fire on the audio book. But ouch! Forgot to put sunscreen on my forehead. Won’t do that again. No pics today. To much of a hurry. But here’s one from yesterday that I took with Camera+
We all exhibit a bit of a cultural tic by constantly wishing one another to “Have a nice day!”
Today is that day. Big Time.
Anyone heard from Cheney recently? Just curious.
My first pass to get these shots was washed away in a downpour laced with lightening. I got drenched. By the time I got back to home base the situation changed and the sun came peeking out from behind black storm clouds. I went back and fired off seventy shots in about a half hour. I have been playing around with some new RAW file conversion software and decided to use these for practice. I think I may have about 20 keepers but I liked these four so here’s a preview.
